Delaware County – Emergency Management Specialist

Delaware County Emergency Management Agency has an opening for an Emergency Management Specialist. This individual assists in planning, developing, and coordinating the preparation and implementation of the Emergency Management program for Delaware County, Ohio. Individual reports to the Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, or designee.  The position requires exercise of independent discretion, judgment and critical thinking skills within the scope of the individuals authority.

Tuscarawas County HS&EMA – Emergency Management Intern

The Tuscarawas County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency currently has an opening for a temporary position of Emergency Management Intern.

The primary duty of the emergency management intern will be to provide support and assistance
on projects deemed appropriate. Such projects may involve exercise design, maintaining critical
emergency operations documents, and conducting public education or outreach programs.
Duties of the emergency management intern may also include assisting HS&EMA staff with
typical day to day operations, attending meetings, networking with other professionals, or attend
events in the community that may occur outside the traditional hours of operation.

Tuscarawas County HS&EMA – Emergency Management Planner

The Tuscarawas County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency is looking to fill the position of Planner.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Conducting research for planning; assists in ensuring that the County emergency plans are
consistent and compatible with the regional and state emergency plan guidelines; Organize
planning activities to include coordination of county agencies to ensure that the county
plans promote county-wide readiness; Coordinate with non-profit groups to ensure that their
plans are consistent with the county plans; Develops and Updates plans as assigned.

Performs professional and administrative work, involving a wide range of technical and
administrative duties as assigned. Manages Equipment Inventories as assigned. Assists with
social media and community outreach. Assists in the application for, and coordination of grants.
Prepares and maintains agency financial recordsincluding budgets, accounts payable and
receivable;submitsvouchersforpayment;monitorsline items; completes monthly
reconciliations; and assist with accounting, when assigned.

Performs a variety ofsecretarial and clerical tasks in order to ensure the efficient operation
of the agency (prepares records, reports, and other documentation; answers telephone and
grants visitors to office; processes mail; maintains databases; maintains files; inventories
equipment and supplies; etc.).

Participates in Hazmat exercises and works in the Emergency Operations Center during
